UB74 Wreck

Depth 36m, 32 metres to top of wreck

The UB74 was 182ft long, had a beam of 19ft and had a displacement of 670 tons. This submarine is a World War I U-boat which ravaged the the Allied Shipping during World War I and was finally destroyed on the 26th May 1918 by a depth charge that was dropped by an armed yacht called Lorna.

She has been heavily salvaged and is well broken up. The Royal Navy have also used her as an ASDIC (Allied Submarine Detection Investigation Committee) target!

She lies in about 34 metres of water and makes an interesting dive.
