Sawtooth Ledges Reef

Depth 23-29m, Sand and gravel seabed

This reef is only a couple of miles south of West Bay. The Sawtooth ledges are a series of ridges, which slope gently on the south side but drop off sharply on the north side. This produces a display on the depth sounder like saw blades teeth.

The diver can find most species of UK corals here, hard and soft species, including the rare yellow sunset corals. These can be found in the deeper parts.
